List the important scenes
Identify the products, people, premises or processes that help explain the business. Match each planned photograph to a page or section. This reduces the chance of receiving many attractive images that do not fit the actual website content.
Allow room for the layout
Ask for a mix of wide and close compositions and keep important subjects away from extreme edges. A hero image may need to crop differently on a phone. Do not place essential contact details or claims only inside the image.
Keep the representation accurate
Use current photographs and obtain appropriate permission for recognisable people and third-party work. Label conceptual illustrations when they might otherwise be mistaken for actual projects. Avoid showing facilities or products that the business does not provide.
Prepare web versions
Keep full-quality originals and create appropriately sized website versions. Use descriptive alt text where the image conveys information, and leave purely decorative visuals unobtrusive. Check that image weight does not make a practical page frustrating to load.
